What Are Electric Guitars?

Electric guitar is a guitar where pickup converts vibrations from the steel strings into electrical current. Such types of guitars are used in jazz, country, rock’n’roll, blues. It also can be used for performing classical music. A lot of well-known guitar players like to play electric guitars. The first guitar player who used electric guitar was Kansas of Wichita. This event happened in 1932. The first solid body guitar was created in 1942. In 8 years Leo Fender created first solid body electric guitar which had commercial success. It was electric guitar with single magnetic pickup, that guitar was called Esquire. One of the advantages of electric guitar is that various undesirable additional noises are eliminated. When we move strings of electric guitar, these movements cause small electric current in magnetic pickups and it gives clear sound. Magnetic pickups eliminate unwanted noises. In comparison with acoustic guitars, electric guitars are solid without holes wh! ich are necessary for better sound in acoustic guitars. Electric guitars are made of different types of wood with lacquer covering. These guitars have sic steel strings. But there are also electric guitars which have hollow body. Pickups are installed in the hollow body. Electric guitar can be used for solo performances or with other music instruments.
